KINDCLOTH™ Wins IDEA® 2025 Sustainability Advancement Award for World-First Dissolvable Insect Repellent Wet Wipe

May 5, 2025

Miami, FL — April 30, 2025 — Born in Africa, built for the world. KINDCLOTH™,  the pioneering and patent-pending dissolvable wipe technology, has been  awarded the IDEA® 2025 Sustainability Advancement Award for its Insect  Repellent Wet Wipe—the world’s first water-dissolvable wipe infused with a  natural insect-repelling lotion.

Presented in Miami by INDA, the IDEA® Sustainability Advancement Award  honours the most forward-thinking products and processes that move the  nonwovens industry toward sustainability and circularity. KINDCLOTH™ was  selected for its groundbreaking integration of Hydropol™-based dissolvable  material with a natural lemongrass and citronella formulation—delivering  outdoor protection without leaving a trace behind.

“This isn’t just a product—it’s a message from Africa to the world,” said Zander  Rossouw, Director at KINDCLOTH™. “A message that we can protect people,  protect nature, and reimagine single-use wipes through innovation that’s  both powerful and gentle.”

KINDCLOTH™ was founded with a mission: to eliminate the environmental  harm of disposable wipes while meeting real-world human needs. In Africa,  where the company was born, malaria remains a leading cause of death— and yet the environments most in need of protection are also the most  vulnerable to pollution. The KINDCLOTH™ insect repellent wipe is designed  specifically for these regions: flushable, biodegradable, water-soluble, and  free of harmful microplastics—a guilt-free solution for families, travellers, and  caregivers alike.

This win doesn’t just recognize a product. It recognizes the rise of the  dissolvable wet wipe category—a new generation of responsible single-use  solutions. KINDCLOTH™ is proud to lead this shift, proving that sustainability  and performance don’t have to be at odds.

“We developed this wipe for our home—Africa—and for every other place  where nature and people deserve better,” Rossouw added. “We believe  dissolvable wipes are the future, and this award is just the beginning.”
